You have chosen the Devil and the 3 of swords. The 3 of swords shows that your past has been difficult. You've had to put up with some heartbreak situations which have really drained your mental and emotional energy. But this situation is coming to a conclusion. It's been going on for some time. It's been quite sorrowful and quite demanding. This loss or heartbreak situation is now in a past position. The 3 of Swords is all about realising this is in the past and you are now able to create something for the new, but the Devil card shows that you are tempted to wallow in self-pity and to be quite negative. You choose to hold on to a situation allowing it to hold you back. You're fearful of the future, so you will not invest in the present for your future for fear that things will work out badly: but you are already in a negative situation. Things are over, it's time to realise that positive changes are coming and stop seeing everything as if it's going to end up back at square one. You're at square one. How can you go back if you're already there? You have got to chose to look at things differently and stop going into this emotional bondage situation, where you impound yourself into something where you feel addicted to reliving something that's negative and no longer productive or of any worth to you in your life. Maybe you're slow to take your time and you need more, but you've really got to change your way of thinking. Once you change your way of thinking, you can change your actions. The Devil card is about temptation and you are tempted to stick with the past. You must move on to the future and realise that you are someone who can create a brighter future for yourself. You do have a tendency to devalue anything that comes easy to you and sometimes you really cope with loneliness better than most people. You prefer you own company, for you've been let down in the past - but you do have the strength and discipline to keep working towards your goal. No matter how difficult it can become, you've got to keep working on your own self worth. That way you will have the experience to formulate some of your lasting values and turn them into discipline and face up to life's challenges. You are someone who can work through a blockage and come out the other side; you need to work out how you're going to do it before any progress can be made from this point.
