Rune 1 - Berkana
Berkana is the family rune. This rune refers to a happy family event, (a wedding, birth etc..). Or this rune can mean the formation of an idea. This rune represents new beginnings, a new project or romance, something that will bring you happiness. If the reading is for a woman, Berkana often represents her. In this case, those runes that surround Berkana will be the forces that surround the woman. In a man's reading, Berkana is likely to represent the woman in his life with whom he has the closest relationship. In certain readings Berkana represents your mother. Rune 3 - Ehwaz
This rune represents movement and changes. Travelling, a change of occupation or maybe a new dwelling place. Ehwaz tells of a change for the better. With Ansuz reversed it means visiting a sick relative and with Berkana the changes or travel involves a family get together. Ehwaz indicates that you are going about a problem correctly. If paired with Ansuz, Jera, or Mannaz someone with good judgment is helping you.
