Welcome to a new year, welcome to Spring, welcome to life anew. The planet has woken from a cold slumber. We have officially entered a new year. What does that mean for you? It means you can start a fresh, a do over if you please! What are you clinging to, or afraid of letting go. Let go of those negative attachments to situations that you have. For some it’s a situation with someone that’s no longer working, places, food, anything you have an unhealthy connection with is being shed right now. A crooked situation needs to be straightened. The tower needs to crumble, just let it. This period might be a bit hard to process, the negative energies might want to keep you tethered to it. Let go anyway! Ways you can get the energy flowing newly is by taking up Pilates, walking, meditation, gardening, painting, basically getting involved with any form of positive activities, some you must be brave and just start and some activities you can revisit after taking time away from.
“By March the worse of the winter would be over, the snow would have thawed, the rivers begin to run, and the world would wake itself again” – Neil Gaim.
Experiment with herbs such as lavender, rose, basil, mint, sage, and rosemary.
- Lavender – Helps to destress the body and allows for a good night’s sleep. Get snug with a cup of soothing lavender tea and slip into the dream realm.
- Rose – Another calming tea can help to enhance sleep and aid in healthy skin.
- Basil – I love this herb; it can aid in releasing stress and detoxify the body.
- Mint – Another herb that can improve sleep, also improve energy, and help with tension headaches and migraines. I drink mint tea from time to time.
- Sage – Can aid with improving digestion (I usually drink sage 30 mins after eating my meal) and raises antioxidant defenses.
- Rosemary – I use this herb to treat inflammation when I have a cold and to also improve my digestion.
These herbs, when made into a ritual bath can both uplift your spirits and help rid of stagnant energy giving you a clear outlook on life and allowing the winds of change to take control.
This is the time to collect the power to begin new dreams or continue working on previous ones. Become aligned with your passions and your values. Be courageous and capable going into this new year. Pay attention to all the small things, we often overlook them, but they are responsible for the big picture. Embrace the adventures that will come this year. It’s time to get out and get connected with this new phase that is upon us. Take this opportunity to discover yourself anew. Let the spring season restore and rejuvenate your body and mind. Whatever normal routine you have that has not been working, can be broken at this time. Allow change and variety to flow, inviting fresh energy into your life. Get out meet different people, travel to different places. Dare yourself to experience what is unusual to you. Have courage and faith in your process, you can do this, you have this under control!
