The weather has changed and we become unwell.
Pineapple juice
Bromelain, an enzyme that pineapple is rich in, has anti-inflammatory properties that combat infection and destroy bacteria. It also helps in decreasing the irritation at the back of your tongue and in your voice box. It helps in soothing airways that are irritated. This powerful enzyme is so beneficial that it has even been approved as a supplement to treat swelling of the nose and sinuses and inflammation .
Pineapple also has antiviral and antibacterial properties. When they work together, they are effective in soothing a cough by calming the airways in your respiratory system. This fruit is also an excellent source of Vitamin C that helps in boosting your immune system . When your immune system is strong, it keeps away cough and cold as well as a wide range of other diseases and ailments. Drinking pineapple juice soothes the throat immediately.
Cinnamon sticks and Chamomile Tea Bags.
Try boiling water in a bowl with 2 or 3 Cinnamon sticks and add 1 or 2 Chamomile tea bags. Place the bowl with its contents on the table and using a towel placed over your head inhale the steam for 5 minutes with the towel over your head. Do this 4 or 5 times a day, for a week. Believe me this is a powerful and wonderful treatment.
Make Cinnamon tea
Add 4 or 5 cinnamon sticks to a tea pot or a large glass jug with a lid on and add boiling water. I prefer to let in cool and drink the tea with its cinnamon sticks left in throughout the day so it becomes stronger. This is also an excellent cleanser for the body and tastes fabulous.
Cranberry juice
Pour a glass of cranberry juice into a cup and heat it up in the microwave drink it warm or hot. Cranberries are rich in anti oxidants and vitamin C. According to conducted studies, cranberry juice helps to inhibit certain strains of the Haemophilus influenza, which is a common cause of ear and respiratory infections in children. The juice inhibits the bacteria’s hair-like structures, inhibiting them from adhering to the surface of the skin.
Detox your whole body in the bath
Run a hot bath and add a cup of inexpensive cider vinegar, add a cup of sea salt and a handful of Bicarbonate of soda. Swirl the 3 ingredients together and soak in the bath, turn on the jacuzzi jets if you are lucky enough to have one. The mixture is perfect for respiratory problems and detoxes the body relaxes the muscles and has the effect of a spa treatment helping the body to rid its impurities.
Be well and be kind to yourself rest as much as you can even if you can't sleep your body will benefit from resting and finally drink lots of water throughout the day.
