It's easy to get bogged down in the mundane day to day routine, the chores and jobs we have to do, the bills we have to pay, etc. It can make life boring and make us feel old before our time, but it doesn't have to be this way. We can age on the outside, but still be young at heart on the inside.
Yes, all the essential things need to be done, but if you have a positive attitude and sunny outlook you can make light of them, get them over and done with quickly, and then move onto the more interesting things that you want to do. Try to look at life as though through the eyes of a child. Keep that inner child playing rather then locking them away or telling them to grow up. Let your personality shine through. Yes, we need to remember to rekindle the fun side of ourselves, life isn't all about work and washing up! Remember, age is just a number and growing up is optional.
There needs to be a balance in life, especially a life/work balance. If you work all the time and don't have time to relax, pursue hobbies or spend time with the family you can be missing out on some special times, as well as the fact that your mind and body need time to rest and recover. At the other extreme, too much partying and socialising may mean important things like bills or responsibilities can be ignored until a dire situation builds up.
So, a good reminder today is to re-evaluate things every so often. Ask yourself these questions: Am I on the right track, am I happy with what I am doing and the amount of time I am doing it, is there anything I can change to make things more how I would like them to be?
