About Reiki

I am a Reiki master. For those of you who don't know what Reiki is I will explain about it and it's origins. Reiki is a hands on healing which was first discovered by Dr Mikoo Usui who lived at the end of the 19th century. He lived in a monastery in Japan and he was a professor in a university. He had a great belief in the Bible and also studied many other scriptures. He went to America where he received a doctorate degree in scripture.

He returned to Japan where he spent time with the monks in a Buddhist monastery where he studied ancient texts and learned sutras and mantras. He came across a passage in a scripture on healing which contained a formula written in symbolic form and this greatly excited him.

He wanted to understand the symbols so he went up a sacred mountain to fast and meditate for twenty one days. At the end of this period he saw a great ball of light coming towards him. It knocked him into another state of consciousness where he saw each symbol in a golden bubble. When he came back down the mountain he was a changed man. He spent the next seven years healing beggars in Kyoto. When he was nearing the end of his life he passed on what he had learned to others.

Anyone can learn Reiki but before they can practice they have to be initiated into it by a Reiki master. This is to open the channels to the \Reiki energy and is a bit like tuning in a radio. There are three levels in Reiki:-

!st Level

This level enables the student to treat themselves and others using hands on therapy. At imitation

the student receives the first two symbols.

2nd Level

At this initiation the student receives more symbols and is able to send distance healing to people and situations.

3rd Level

This is the Master level where the Master symbol is implanted in the heart of the student during initiation.At this level the person is able to teach others and initiate them into Reiki.

Personally, I have found that Reiki has helped me a lot on my spiritual journey. At the end of my shift I always send long-distance healing to the situations which my clients have discussed with me that day. I hope they find it helpful.
