A Simple Meditation.
People often say to me that they do not know how to meditate. They say they find it difficult to focus, that they cannot get themselves into ‘the zone’ or they feel they are not quite getting it right.
There are different ways to meditate and we all find one that resonates with us eventually. i always say it does not have to be hard or intense. Keep things simple and then you can enjoy it more. Here is a simple one to try.
In this form of meditation you are going to be using all of your senses. You are going to have bare feet in the meditation and you are going to be calming your mind so your vibrations heighten and you have clearer thought through your mind’s eye.
You have to visualise a natural setting, somewhere out in the open that resonates with you as a place of natural beauty. For this example I will use the beach, which is my ‘go to’ place.
Imagine there are ten steps down to the beach or whichever place you wish to go and remember, your feet are bare.
So, you are standing on the top step, step number ten in your mind’s eye. You feel the sand between your toes. You feel the sun beating down on you with warmth. You taste the salt of the sea. You feel the wind in your hair from the sea breeze. You hear the seagulls in the distance. You hear the waves crashing on the shore. You see the beauty of the beach and the sea. You take in the horizon. When you have appreciated all of these, you go down to step nine.
Then, do the above all over again and again until you get down to step one and finally step onto the beach.
As an aside, if you are doing this while lying down and you are still awake at step four, well done!
As you walk onto the beach take your time and use all of your senses as you walk. Enjoy the walk. I always walk over to a big black rock by the cliff face. I sit there for a short while and see who comes to sit and talk with me. You will be amazed who you will see.
Or you may decide just to enjoy all of the sights and natural beauty, but by now your mind is calm and focused on nature.
Once you have had enough, just walk back to step one and start your climb, repeating the process you used to walk down the steps so your vibrations are bought into the world slowly. Otherwise, it can be too much of a jolt.
Please then drink some water and enjoy the calmness that you will feel.
I hope you enjoy th - is simple but effective meditation.
